![]() ![]() ![]() This book is more of an biography of Marston and his collaborators as well as a short history of early feminism. One important cavate that I do have to state before recomending this book is that the book really isn't about Wonder Woman like Superman: The High Flying History of America's Most Enduring Hero by Larry Tye is about Superman. Apparently Marston was somewhat of a shameless self-promoter who was largely unsuccessful until the creation of Wondy. ![]() It clearly show them as real people with successes and failures. Like any great history book should, this one doesn't make Marston, Holloway, or Burne to be saints. They were three extremely intelligent people that used feminist and various philosophical theories to build Wonder Woman. The book delves into the fancinating (and very unconventional) lives of Marston, his wife, Elizabeth Holloway Marston and his paramore, Olive Burne. I found the book to be a fantasic history lesson of the times and of William Moulton Marston. ![]() In a nutshell it is a book about the early years of Wonder Woman, its creators and a bit of the history of feminism during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. I recently finished The Secret History of Wonder Woman by Jill Lapore. ![]()
