![]() ![]() I was aware of nothing like that in my salad days and I can only hope that what they experience and the reactions of others around them is a world growing in understanding and acceptance. ![]() It is a remarkably understanding and positive representation of two young men finding who they are and what they mean to one another. Should it have been more contemporary for real YA readers? I am well beyond that point in life but found that it resonated in so many of the locales and behaviours from my old GPS school days especially in the dialogues and things of interest and discussion, so that is another plus. However the atmosphere of so many locations is quite palpable even if it is set more than twenty years ago. The setting reference are quite regular without being overdone – mention of queenslanders and their interiors and Jacarandas only need to go so far. It is set in Brisbane which is always enjoyable. I was so pleased by this book on a number of levels. ![]()
